The Land of Kong

Giant Armadillo and more!

The Entrance

Today we drove past the 'abandoned' Land of Kong. You can Google it. To save me some time. It was once a fantastic Jurassic wonder, but sat disintegrating for years while the owners refused to allow trespassers and curiosity seekers  in to roam. Now the entire property is privately owned by the Spider Creek resort people.  The gift shop burnt down a couple of years ago. Lots of dinosaurs still inhabit the old park. It is maintained  and the road is used, by the owners, because people still aren't allowed in. I'm not here to give you the history of the place, but I should mention that the guy who sculpted the dinosaurs etc. was the same artist who later made Christ of the Ozarks.. that abomination that looms above Eureka Springs. It is usually pretty impossible to get any pictures because it zooms by so fast on the way to the nearby expensive gas station emergency convenience store and my camera does not take good still shots at a fast clip. Today I  insisted that we pull over so I could get maybe one good shot. Here are some photos I took today.

This is the old wire frame of a pterodactyl.
